Luke 1:76-77

"And you, my child, will be called a prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare the way for him, to give his people the knowledge of salvation through the forgiveness of their sins"

We come to know of salvation when we realize we are sinners and need forgiveness.

Proverbs 22:6

“Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it”

Daddy and I are trying our best to teach you the proper way to live your life ... Centered on God, focused on family and dedicated to serving others. My prayer is that our example is one that you will look back on when you have a family of your own and pray that you set the same example as we did. We love you!!

Isaiah 9:2

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned.

We are all walking in darkness, that is reality. Dark is defined as the absence of light. Christ is light. Let Christ be the light of your life.

Luke 12:15

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.

It's crazy that Christmas to most people is about how much stuff you give or receive ... But the meaning of Christmas is so far from that ... Material possessions should not rule your happiness - the gift of Jesus is more than enough.

Numbers 6:24-26

“‘“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”’

Hold tight to this truth daily, knowing the Lord is with you always.

Psalm 95:1

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.

I LOVE to sing and worship the Lord - it's almost like therapy to just let go and sing freely as if I have the voice of an angel (I do not, however, we serve a forgiving Lord so He doesn't mind).

Luke 12:34

Your heart will be where your treasure is.

Be sure what you consider treasure is really important

Colossians 3:20

Children obey your parents in all things, this pleases the Lord.

Today you started jumping on the bed, pulling plugs out if the wall and your usual, throwing your food on the ground when you are done :) you are so curious, but you for sure know right from wrong ... You have this little look to you that shows you know you're going to be corrected ... But you don't care!

Silly boy

You are sick today with a head cold so I kept you home from school. Even when sick, you dance, sing and entertain all the time. You are so silly. Your newest thing is when putting you to sleep you like to hit my face and laugh. I try not to laugh with you because hitting is not nice but it is funny. You are also fighting going to bed so much that you talk as you first fall asleep and sign "more". Too cute. I love you and hope you feel better tomorrow!

Ezra 3:12

But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who had seen the former temple, wept aloud when they saw the foundation of this temple being laid, while many others shouted for joy.

It's hard at tes toagine what new beginnings will look like. It's sad to walk away from things you know were built on a foundation of Gods will ... But remember to seek His advice when starting new and you will see His glory shine through on a new situation and foundation.

1 Chronicles 16:27

Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his dwelling place.

True joy is found in Jesus ... Don't get that confused with the happiness you can find in worldly possessions. Seek Jesus to find joy.

First haircut

Hello love,

On Saturday, Daddy and I took you for your very first haircut! Your sweet curls were starting to get in your eyes so it was time to say goodbye. You did great in the big boy car and did not cry one bit! Although you did glare at the hairdresser once or twice to warn her you were not happy with what she was doing!

Before

After

You are SO handsome!

John 13:34-35

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

It is so important to carry yourself in a way that displays you are a Christ-follower. I have never been an in-your-face type of Christ follower but I do my best to love others and treat them with respect. Through my actions it is clear that I am a believer and can encourage others though my actions as well.

Phil 3:6-7

Today's verse speaks for itself - cast your worries onto the Lord and you will find peace.

6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

This verse is so powerful! If you never have the desire to memorize any scripture ... At least memorize this. Think about it - I love you more than life itself and would do ANYTHING to protect you from any pain, harm or sadness. God loved his son that much - and he gave Him up so YOU and I will have everlasting life. oh my word, I can't imagine giving you up for anything... And he did that for us. Wow. Remember that in all that you do, God loves you SO much (and so do I) xoxo

Titus 2:6-8

As you may have guessed ... My favorite book is the book of Titus. The message is so pure at heart encouraging you to teach others and be a Christ-like example.

6 Similarly, encourage the young men to be self-controlled. 7 In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness 8 and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.

This verse is so powerful and I need to be reminded to carry myself as an example to others. I have some growing to do and I am going to start in our home.
